Family Search - FREE LDS Church genealogy website - search for your family names, search the new Pilot program from indexed names, get help from guides and resources, AND learn how to research by watching videos from the experts

Find a Grave - Check out where your ancestors were buried.  Thousands of graves are being posted daily.  Search by person's name, by state (or country), or by cemetery.

FamilySearch Wiki - get started with this site

Ancestry - Available to members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints when you sign up with FamilySearch.  For everyone - two weeks free (do need to use a credit card but be sure to cancel before the two weeks is up or your card will be charged) - Usually free at public libraries - also free at Family History Centers.

Cyndi's List - a list of lists of genealogical websites - The most complete list of genealogical sites - some lead to sites where you have to pay, others lead to free websites.

United States Genealogy Sleuth Search - The site the Pro's use when doing research....BEGIN HERE!

US GenWeb Project - FREE site search by state then county - tons of information available - Absolutely a must to check out!  Listed by state then research the county.

Ancestry.com - A Pay program but a great program to find your family.  Has census records, birth, death, marriage, ship, land, wills, etc.  A huge data base.  You can sign up for a 2 week trial period (using a credit card) - cancel the day before the end date or your card will be charged automatically.
